ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help cancer patients improve their emotional well-being through a combination of face-to-face therapy and a mobile app. The focus is on a type of therapy called acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), which helps people become more flexible in their thinking and better able to handle difficult emotions. The trial will involve about 112 participants who will be divided into three groups: one group will receive ACT in person along with the app, another group will only receive ACT in person, and the last group will receive usual care without the therapy. The participants will take part in the program for 8 to 10 weeks, and their progress will be checked at different points in time to see if their anxiety, depression, and overall quality of life improve.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be between 18 and 70 years old, have a diagnosis of certain types of cancer (like breast, lung, or colorectal) at stages I-III, and must be able to use a smartphone and access the internet. They should not be currently involved in other clinical trials or receiving other psychological treatments. This study aims to find out if using both face-to-face therapy and an app can lead to better mental health outcomes for cancer patients, making it easier for them to cope with the emotional challenges of their illness.
