ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how to better understand brain tumours, specifically gliomas, using advanced MRI techniques. Researchers believe that by looking at special markers in the tumour cells and the surrounding blood vessels, they can identify areas where the tumour is actively growing, even before it becomes visible on standard MRI scans. This could help doctors anticipate tumour growth and make treatment decisions more effectively. The study will involve patients who are scheduled to have surgery for their brain tumour, and it will compare the MRI results with tissue samples taken during the operation.

To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have been referred for surgery to remove or biopsy a primary brain tumour. It’s important that participants can give their written consent and do not have any conditions that would prevent them from undergoing an MRI. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as well as those currently receiving chemotherapy, are not eligible. Participants can expect to undergo some new non-invasive MRI scans as part of their pre-surgical imaging, which could provide valuable insights into their tumour's activity.
