ClinConnect Summary
The TEACH trial is studying whether using telehealth technology can help doctors provide better care for patients who are on mechanical ventilation in the ICU. Specifically, it looks at how adding real-time support and feedback can improve the way doctors help patients wake up from sedation and breathe on their own. This trial aims to find out if these improvements lead to better outcomes for patients who need this kind of support.
To be eligible for this trial, patients must be at least 16 years old, currently in the ICU, and on a ventilator. Unfortunately, patients who are brain dead or who pass away within 24 hours of being intubated (having a tube placed to help them breathe) cannot participate. If someone does join the trial, they can expect their healthcare team to use telehealth tools to enhance their treatment and monitor their recovery more closely. This trial is actively recruiting participants, and it holds the promise of improving care for patients in critical condition.
