ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how anxiety before surgery affects the amount of pain relief medication (opioids) people need after ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgery. Researchers want to understand if higher anxiety levels can lead to needing more pain medication after the surgery, which could help improve pain management for future patients.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be adults aged 18 and older who are scheduled for elective ENT surgery under general anesthesia and are in good overall health (as assessed by the American Society of Anesthesiology). Participants will be asked to read and understand information about the study and sign a consent form. If you decide to join, you can expect to answer questions about your anxiety and pain levels before and after your surgery. This research could lead to better ways to manage pain after surgery and help doctors understand how anxiety plays a role in recovery.
