ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called Pusher Syndrome, which can affect stroke patients by making it difficult for them to control their posture and movement during rehabilitation. The researchers want to see if a special type of training, called task-oriented training, can help improve balance and movement for patients with this syndrome. They believe that by tailoring the training to how each patient perceives their own body position, they may be able to enhance recovery.
To participate in this study, individuals must be aged between 40 and 74 years and have recently experienced their first stroke, which is confirmed by an MRI scan. They should also have weakness on one side of their body (hemiplegia) and be able to follow simple instructions. Participants will not be allowed to engage in other physical therapy during the trial. If eligible, participants can expect to receive this specialized training while their progress is closely monitored. This research aims to provide better treatment options for stroke survivors dealing with Pusher Syndrome.
