ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding ways to help families and children reduce childhood obesity, which is when kids have a higher body weight than what is considered healthy for their age and height. The researchers are testing a program that provides motivational coaching to support healthy lifestyle changes in children aged 2 to 8 years who have a body mass index (BMI) in the 85th percentile or higher. This means they weigh more than 85% of kids their age. The goal is to create a program that can be easily used in regular doctors' offices and can make a real difference in tackling the childhood obesity epidemic.
To participate in this trial, families need to be able to speak either English or Spanish, and they must have a child who meets the age and weight criteria mentioned above. If selected, families can expect to receive personalized counseling and support to help their child develop healthier habits. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to create sustainable solutions that can be used by healthcare providers in the future to help more children and families lead healthier lives.
