ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the occurrence of chronic pain in patients who have undergone thoracic surgery, specifically looking at how pain develops in the months following procedures like thoracotomy (a larger surgical cut) and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS, a less invasive method). Researchers want to understand how many patients experience ongoing pain three and six months after their surgery, as this can impact their recovery and quality of life.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be between 18 and 65 years old and in generally good health (not severely affected by other health issues). They should be scheduled for an elective thoracic surgery, meaning the surgery is planned in advance rather than done in an emergency. Participants will be monitored for their pain levels after surgery, helping doctors learn more about how to manage and reduce chronic pain in the future. Overall, this trial aims to improve patient care and recovery after thoracic surgery.
