ClinConnect Summary

The Vermont RETAIN Impact Evaluation is a study aimed at helping people who have experienced injuries or illnesses that might make it hard for them to keep working. This program, called RETAIN, is a partnership between the U.S. Department of Labor and the Social Security Administration, and it focuses on providing support so that individuals can stay in their jobs or return to work after an illness or injury. The study will look at how well this program is working in Vermont, who is participating, and what results they are seeing, including whether the benefits of the program are worth the costs.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old, live or work in Vermont (or live nearby and plan to work in Vermont), and either be currently employed or actively searching for a job. They must also have an injury or illness that has limited their ability to work within the last six months. However, people who have been out of work for more than 12 weeks or are currently receiving disability benefits cannot participate. Those who join can expect to receive various types of support, including help from medical providers and services that assist in staying at or returning to work.
