Veno Arterial Mortality Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating the effectiveness of veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA ECMO), a special type of life-support treatment used for patients who are experiencing severe heart problems, such as cardiac arrest or very low blood pressure. The goal of the study is to understand better how this treatment can help improve survival rates, as currently, only about 40% of patients survive to leave the hospital after being treated with VA ECMO.

To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and currently receiving VA ECMO treatment. The trial is open to all genders. If eligible, participants can expect to be monitored closely while receiving this life-saving therapy, and their health outcomes will be tracked to see how effective VA ECMO is in improving survival rates. This research is being conducted at Amiens hospital university, a center that specializes in this type of care.
