ClinConnect Summary
The TRIPS trial is studying different ways to train graduate students in psychotherapy skills. Researchers want to find out if a hands-on approach, called deliberate practice training, is more effective than traditional teaching methods. In this trial, about 200 students from two universities in Denmark will be divided into two groups. One group will practice their skills through role-play and use an online tool with therapy videos, while the other group will learn through lectures and reading. Each group will spend 15 hours in class and doing homework.
To participate in this study, students need to be enrolled in a specific clinical psychology course, have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, and agree to participate by signing a consent form. This research could change how future therapists are trained, making them better at helping people with their mental health. If you are a graduate psychology student at one of the participating universities and are interested in improving your skills, this study might be a great opportunity!
