ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two types of epidural catheters—nylon and polyurethane—to see which one is safer and works better for patients undergoing major orthopedic surgery. Epidural anesthesia is a common method used to manage pain during and after surgery, but sometimes the catheters used can cause problems, such as blockages or breakage. By comparing these two materials, the trial aims to find out if one type is less likely to cause complications.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 21 and 60 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) under 35, and be generally healthy (classified as ASA physical status II or lower). If you join the study, you'll be randomly assigned to receive either a nylon or polyurethane catheter. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to research that could improve pain management for future patients undergoing orthopedic surgery.
