ClinConnect Summary
The Oxford Risk Factors And Non-Invasive Imaging Study (ORFAN) is a research project aimed at understanding the risk factors for heart and blood vessel diseases. The study will use CT scans and biological samples to find new indicators that help predict who might develop these conditions. Researchers hope that by gathering this information, they can improve how we identify and manage cardiovascular risks in different populations.
To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 99 years old and be willing to give your consent to join. If you are currently facing active cancer or have previously taken part in other specific arms of the study, you may not be eligible. If you decide to participate, you can expect to undergo non-invasive imaging and provide some biological samples, which will help researchers gather vital information while ensuring your comfort and safety. This could contribute to better future treatments for cardiovascular diseases.
