ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how diet and eating habits affect the health of adults with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). SCD is a condition where blood cells become crescent-shaped, which can lead to serious health issues like pain, strokes, and heart problems. The researchers want to see if better nutrition can help manage these symptoms and improve overall health.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of SCD. If you join, you will go through a few steps, including a physical exam and interviews about your eating habits and food-related activities. You’ll also fill out some surveys about your health and provide blood and urine samples after fasting for 8 hours. The whole process will take about two weeks, and you can complete much of it from home or at a nearby location. This study aims to better understand the role of diet in managing SCD, which could lead to improved care for people living with this condition.
