ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to see if it can help police officers in Pakistan who are dealing with psychological trauma, stress, and thoughts of suicide. The goal is to find out if EMDR can effectively reduce these issues and improve the overall well-being of officers. The trial will involve 80 police officers from five major cities, and participants will be randomly assigned to receive the EMDR therapy or not.
To be eligible for the study, participants need to be between 18 and 60 years old, have thoughts of suicide (as measured by a specific scale), and have experienced psychological trauma and stress from their work. However, those with very active suicidal thoughts or severe mental health issues won't be included and will be referred for additional help. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive EMDR therapy and share your experiences, which will help researchers understand how well this treatment works for police officers facing these challenges.
