ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how chest X-ray results can help understand the severity of pneumonia caused by COVID-19. Researchers will review the records of patients who were admitted to the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at University Hospital Center Osijek during 2020 and 2021. They aim to see how changes in chest X-ray images relate to changes in blood tests and breathing function over time.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to have pneumonia caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and must have been admitted to the COVID-19 ICU. Unfortunately, patients with lung tumors or a history of lung surgery cannot take part in this trial. If you or a loved one qualifies, the study will involve reviewing past medical records, so there won’t be any new treatments or procedures required. This research could help improve how doctors monitor and treat patients with COVID-19 pneumonia in the future.
