ClinConnect Summary
This study in Poland is observing adults with temporomandibular disorders (TMD) to see how common chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and perceived stress are, and how these factors relate to TMD symptoms like jaw pain and limited movement. Participants will have a standard dental exam to confirm TMD and will fill out four short questionnaires about pain, depression, anxiety, and stress (GCPS, PHQ-9, GAD-7, and PSS-10). No treatment is involved as part of the research, and the aim is to learn how these issues are linked with TMD to help guide future care.
Who can take part? Adults aged 18 to 80 with a TMD diagnosis who are seen at the Wroclaw Medical University outpatient clinic in Poland. Exclusion rules include severe neurological or mental illness, medicines that affect nerve or muscle function, alcohol or drug problems, active cancer, or pregnancy. The study plans to enroll about 219 people. If you join, you’ll undergo the diagnostic exam and complete the four questionnaires. The study is currently enrolling by invitation and is expected to finish data collection by the end of 2025; results are not yet reported.
