ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to collect urine from elderly patients who have heart failure and are also experiencing incontinence. Heart failure is a serious condition that affects many older adults, especially those over 75 years old, and can lead to hospital stays. The goal of this study is to test a non-invasive method for gathering urine, which will help doctors adjust the treatment for these patients who are receiving diuretics (medications that help remove excess fluid). This approach might make it easier to monitor their health without causing discomfort.
To be eligible for this trial, patients must be over 75 years old, currently hospitalized for heart failure, and experiencing incontinence. They should also be receiving treatment with intravenous diuretics and agree to participate in the study after being fully informed about it. If patients join the trial, they can expect to use this new urine collection method during their hospital stay, which aims to improve their care and potentially reduce the costs associated with treating heart failure in older adults.
