ClinConnect Summary
The "Dialyzing Wisely" clinical trial is focused on improving the way acute renal replacement therapy (RRT) is delivered to patients with acute kidney injury in Alberta. The goal is to use the best available evidence and practices to provide better care for patients while also reducing costs for the healthcare system. This means they want to find ways to help patients feel better and recover more effectively during their treatment.
If you or a loved one is currently in one of the participating adult or pediatric intensive care units in Alberta and receiving acute RRT as part of their usual care, you may be eligible to join this study. Participants can expect to receive treatment based on this new pathway, which aims to enhance their overall experience and outcomes during their hospital stay. Importantly, there are no specific exclusions for this trial, so many patients could potentially take part. This study is actively recruiting participants, and your involvement could help improve care for future patients facing similar challenges.
