ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how sleep habits affect muscle strength and thinking abilities in patients with respiratory diseases like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Researchers want to understand if better sleep can help prevent muscle loss (sarcopenia) and cognitive issues (problems with thinking and memory) in these patients. They will look at different aspects of sleep, such as how long patients sleep, how often they wake up during the night, and the overall quality of their sleep.
To participate in this study, you need to have COPD or IPF. However, you won’t be able to join if you were hospitalized for breathing problems in the last month, already have muscle or cognitive issues, or are using certain types of breathing support like long-term oxygen therapy. If you decide to join, you can expect to share information about your sleep patterns and participate in assessments related to your health and wellbeing. This study is currently recruiting participants of all ages, aiming to gather more information that could help improve the lives of individuals with these respiratory conditions.
