ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Study of Healthy Cohort for Early Detection of Cancer, aims to understand how to detect cancer early in healthy individuals. The idea is that many people are diagnosed with cancer at a late stage when treatment is more difficult and less effective. By tracking a large group of healthy adults over time, researchers hope to gather important information about lifestyle, medications, and physical activity that could help identify signs of cancer earlier. This could lead to better outcomes for patients.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and undergoing a routine upper or lower endoscopy, which is a common medical procedure. However, if you currently have cancer, have been treated for cancer in the last five years (with some exceptions), or are unable to provide blood samples and fill out follow-up questionnaires, you won't be eligible. Participants can expect to provide blood samples and answer questions periodically throughout the study. This research is important because it could help improve the way we detect cancer and ultimately save lives.
