ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how sounds and gentle touch can help patients in a traumatic coma. The researchers want to see if these sensory experiences can improve patients' awareness, help their oxygen levels, and stabilize their blood pressure while they are in intensive care. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but it will involve adults aged 18 and older who have been in a coma due to head trauma for at least 24 hours.
To participate, patients must have a specific level of consciousness (measured by a score called the GCS, which ranges from 3 to 8) and should not have any hearing issues. Additionally, their family members need to agree to have them involved in the study. Participants can expect to receive auditory (sounds) and tactile (touch) interventions while they are being cared for in the hospital. This trial aims to explore new ways to support recovery in individuals facing serious brain injuries.
