ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new digital support system called Afinidata, aimed at helping young children in Peru develop healthily. Many children under five years old are at risk of not reaching their full potential due to factors like poor health and limited learning opportunities. The Afinidata platform provides personalized parenting advice and activities through an easy-to-use digital service, making it more affordable for families in low-income areas. The study will involve 2,400 newborns from a rural community in San Marcos, Peru, and will follow them for two years to see how well the platform works in promoting healthy child development.
To be eligible for this trial, children need to live in the study area. However, children with disabilities, families planning to move away, or those already enrolled in a national support program called Cuna Mas cannot participate. Parents of the enrolled children can expect to receive valuable information and resources through the Afinidata platform, which is designed to support them in helping their children grow and learn. If the trial shows positive results, this innovative system could provide low-cost support to many families, improving child health and development on a larger scale.
