ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how the quality of life is affected in patients with advanced chronic liver disease who receive a treatment called Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS). TIPS is used to help relieve pressure in the veins of the liver, which can cause serious complications like bleeding or fluid buildup in the abdomen. The researchers want to understand how this treatment impacts patients' everyday lives by using a simple and validated questionnaire. This will help ensure that the findings are meaningful and tailored to the patients’ experiences.
To be part of this study, participants must be at least 18 years old and have been referred for the TIPS procedure at the University Hospitals of Strasbourg between January 2012 and October 2020. They also need to agree to the use of their medical information for research. Those who are too sick, have had a liver transplant after TIPS, or have difficulties understanding the questionnaire will not be included. Participants can expect to share their experiences through the questionnaire to help improve care for future patients. This study is currently recruiting, and all eligible individuals, regardless of gender, are welcome to participate.
