ClinConnect Summary
The "Expanding Fertility Care to Poor and Low Resourced Settings Study" is a clinical trial aimed at understanding the challenges that men face when undergoing tests for infertility. The researchers want to ensure that all aspects of infertility are considered, especially in communities that may not have easy access to fertility treatments. This study is particularly important as the COVID-19 pandemic has made it harder for low-income and minority communities to receive proper medical care.
To participate in this study, you must be a male partner of a woman who is being evaluated for infertility at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and you should be able to speak either English or Spanish. You also need to be between the ages of 18 and 74 and recommended to undergo a semen analysis, which is a test that checks the health of sperm. If you join the study, you’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences and help the researchers understand how to improve fertility care for men in similar situations.
