ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Vitamin D Insufficiency Investigation Among Hospitalized Inpatients" is focused on understanding how common low levels of vitamin D (a vital nutrient important for bone health and the immune system) are among hospitalized patients. This study is important because low vitamin D levels can lead to more serious health problems and longer hospital stays. The researchers aim to find out how many hospitalized patients are affected, how severe their vitamin D deficiency is, and how it impacts their treatment and recovery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and have had a test measuring their vitamin D levels while being treated in one of the participating hospitals from 2015 to 2019. There are no specific exclusions, meaning almost anyone who meets these criteria can join. Participants in the study can expect to help researchers gather important information that may lead to better treatment strategies for those with low vitamin D levels in the future. This research could ultimately improve care for hospitalized patients and help them recover more quickly.
