ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of advanced technology to improve outcomes for patients undergoing hip replacement surgery, known as total hip arthroplasty (THA). The study is looking at how a computer navigation system, combined with real-time modeling software, can help surgeons place the hip implants more accurately. Proper placement is crucial because it can lead to better pain relief and functionality after the surgery. The researchers believe that using these technologies will result in more successful surgeries compared to traditional methods.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be 40 years or older and have osteoarthritis of the hip that requires a hip replacement. They should also have a body mass index (BMI) under 40 and be able to understand and follow study instructions. Participants can expect to undergo a hip replacement surgery with the added benefit of advanced technology aimed at improving their recovery and overall satisfaction. It’s important to note that those with previous hip surgeries, certain spine conditions, or limited mobility in their hips may not be eligible for this study.
