ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to treat open wounds, such as burns, by using a technique called manual implantation of full-thickness skin microcolumns (FTSMs). This method aims to cover wounds effectively while avoiding the need for another surgery that would leave a scar at the donor site. The researchers want to see if this approach can help wounds heal better and faster.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 8 and 85 years old and have a specific type of open wound on areas like the scalp, neck, torso, or limbs that needs coverage. It’s important that the skin in other areas is healthy enough to be used for the treatment. However, people with wounds on their face, joints, those who are pregnant, or who have active infections will not be eligible. While the trial is not currently recruiting participants, it aims to find a more efficient way to help wounds heal without additional scarring.
