ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Preventing Diabetes in Latino Families" is focused on helping Latino families reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes and improve their overall quality of life through a family-oriented lifestyle program. This study is looking for families with children aged 10 to 16 who are Latino and have obesity, specifically those whose body mass index (BMI) is at or above the 95th percentile for their age and sex. However, children already diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or other specific health conditions that affect metabolism or mental well-being will not be eligible.
If you and your child qualify for this trial, you can expect to participate in activities and programs designed to promote healthier habits together as a family. The study is currently recruiting participants, and it's open to all genders. This could be a great opportunity for families looking to make positive lifestyle changes while also contributing to important research aimed at preventing diabetes in their community.
