ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how common a specific genetic mutation, called c.853delT, is among men with prostate cancer in Martinique. This mutation has been found mostly in patients of African ancestry and is linked to prostate cancer, which is notably high in this region. The researchers aim to estimate how many prostate cancer patients carry this mutation to better understand its role in the disease.
To be eligible for the study, participants must be adult men over 18 years old, living in Martinique, and diagnosed with prostate cancer, regardless of its type or stage. They should also either be undergoing treatment in a public or private urology clinic or have consented to participate in the study. It’s important to note that only men of African descent can join, and they must be affiliated with French social security. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to important research that could help improve the understanding and treatment of prostate cancer in their community.
