ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement in Primary Care" (PriCARE/CARIÑO) is designed to help improve the relationships between parents and their young children. The study aims to reduce child maltreatment, enhance the way parents and children interact, and decrease harsh or neglectful parenting. It also focuses on lowering stress for parents and improving behaviors in children.
To participate, caregivers must be at least 18 years old, speak English or Spanish, and be the legal guardian of a child aged 18 months to 6 years who receives care at a participating clinic in North Carolina or Philadelphia. The child should have Medicaid, CHIP, or no insurance. Caregivers will need to attend group sessions, have a phone that can send texts, and access to technology for virtual meetings. Participants can expect to be part of supportive groups aimed at improving parenting skills and strengthening their relationship with their child. It’s important to note that certain conditions, such as previous participation in this study or specific diagnoses in the child, may prevent eligibility.
