ClinConnect Summary
The EMPOWERYOU trial is studying an online program designed to help primary caregivers—like foster or adoptive parents—of children aged 8 to 13 years old. This program aims to reduce the chances of these children experiencing victimization, which means being harmed or mistreated. The researchers want to find out which parts of the program work best by testing different combinations of its features with 317 participating caregivers. After the trial, all caregivers will have access to the full program if it is found to be safe and effective.
To be eligible for this study, caregivers must be primarily responsible for children in the specified age range and should not be facing acute child safety issues or have insufficient knowledge of the German language. Participants can expect to be randomly assigned to one of several groups to see how well the various parts of the program work over three months. Overall, this study could provide valuable insights into how to better support caregivers and protect children from victimization.
