ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the connection between stroke and adrenal incidentalomas (AIs). An adrenal incidentaloma is a growth found on the adrenal gland that is often discovered by chance during imaging tests done for other reasons. Researchers want to understand if having an AI affects the risk of disability or death in stroke patients. Stroke is a serious condition that can lead to long-term disability or even death, so this information could be very important for patient care.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be between the ages of 65 to 74 and have experienced a stroke, such as a cerebral infarction (blockage in the brain's blood supply), intracerebral hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain), or subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding around the brain). However, people who have certain conditions, like metastatic cancer or smaller AIs, or those taking specific medications, may not be eligible. Participants in the trial can expect to be closely monitored to gather data on their health outcomes related to stroke and AIs, which could help improve understanding and treatment of these conditions in the future.
