ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how your diet and the tiny organisms in your gut, called the gut microbiome, might affect how well your body responds to the flu vaccine. Researchers want to understand if certain foods and the types of bacteria or viruses in your gut can influence your immune response after getting vaccinated against influenza.
To participate, you need to be at least 18 years old, work or study at MD Anderson, and receive the seasonal flu vaccine through their Employee Health program. You'll also need to provide a stool sample and give blood twice for testing. If you’re pregnant, you can still join the study. Participants will complete a questionnaire about their diet and provide consent for the gut microbiome testing and vaccine response evaluation. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and your involvement could help improve our understanding of how diet and gut health affect vaccine effectiveness.
