ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Culture and Well-Being for Latinos," aims to see if a new program called SOCIAL-ENGAGE can help Spanish-speaking adults who are feeling socially isolated or at risk of suicide. The researchers want to find out if getting people more involved in their cultural and social communities can lower their feelings of loneliness and reduce suicide risk. Initially, they will work with a small group of participants to improve the program, and then they will test it more widely with 60 people.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be Hispanic or Latino adults aged 18 and older, primarily speak Spanish, and be receiving care from the UR health system. They should also have low social engagement and show signs of suicidal thoughts. Participants can expect to take part in activities designed to help them connect with their culture and community. This trial is an important step towards creating effective support for individuals at risk of suicide in the Hispanic community.
