ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the rates of antibiotic resistance in a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), which can cause stomach problems. Researchers want to understand how resistant this bacteria is to different antibiotics over time. They are specifically looking at patients with upper gastrointestinal diseases who have been diagnosed with an H. pylori infection and will be undergoing a procedure called endoscopy to collect samples for testing.
To participate in this study, patients need to have an H. pylori infection and be willing to allow their samples to be analyzed to see how well different antibiotics can work against the bacteria. However, individuals who have serious health issues, misuse drugs or alcohol, are pregnant or nursing, or have taken certain medications recently will not be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo an endoscopy, which is a safe procedure, and their results will help improve treatment options for H. pylori infections in the future.
