ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well the lungs can recover in patients who have acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) due to COVID-19. ARDS is a serious condition that causes breathing difficulties, often requiring patients to be put on a ventilator to help them breathe. The researchers want to measure a specific factor called hysteresis, which helps them understand how effectively the lungs can expand and take in air. By doing this, they hope to learn more about the lung recovery process in these patients.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be adults who are currently on a ventilator and have been diagnosed with ARDS or ARDS related to COVID-19. However, those with chronic lung diseases or who are at high risk of dying from other reasons within the next three months will not be included. If someone joins the trial, they can expect to undergo assessments that will help the researchers better understand lung function during this challenging time. This study is currently recruiting participants and is open to individuals of any gender aged 18 and older. Your involvement could contribute valuable information to improve care for patients with similar conditions in the future.
