ClinConnect Summary
The National Australian HCV Point-of-Care Testing Program is a study aimed at understanding whether using a quick finger-stick test for Hepatitis C (HCV) can help more people get diagnosed and treated for this infection. The study will involve people who may be at risk for HCV, such as those using drug treatment services, living in shelters, or in prisons. If you are at least 18 years old and have received this quick HCV test, you may be eligible to participate.
As a participant, you won’t receive treatment during the study, but if the test shows that you have the virus (HCV RNA positive), you will be connected to appropriate medical care. This study is currently recruiting participants and aims to gather important information to improve HCV testing and treatment in various community settings. Your involvement could help enhance the way HCV is diagnosed and treated for many people in Australia.
