ClinConnect Summary

This study is looking at how brain stimulation can affect cognitive control, which is the ability to manage thoughts and actions. Researchers will monitor brain signals and stimulate certain areas of the brain in adult patients who are already being observed for epilepsy treatment. This study is not aimed at treating epilepsy or any other disease; instead, it will help scientists understand more about brain function.

To participate, individuals must be adults undergoing standard monitoring for epilepsy at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. However, people with certain cognitive or physical challenges that could affect their ability to take part in the study will not be included. Participants can expect to undergo some cognitive tests along with the brain monitoring. It’s important to note that this study is focused on research and will not provide treatment for any conditions.
