ClinConnect Summary

The Barts Revascularisation Registry is a clinical trial that aims to better understand how patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) are treated and how they respond to different treatments. CAD is a condition where the blood vessels that supply the heart become narrowed or blocked, which can lead to serious health issues like heart attacks or chest pain (angina). This study will gather information from patients who have undergone a procedure called revascularisation, which helps restore blood flow to the heart. By looking at real-world data, researchers hope to improve care for patients with CAD and identify factors that can predict their outcomes.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be 16 years or older and have had an angiogram (a type of imaging test for the heart) at Barts Health. Importantly, the study will include all patients referred to the Interventional Cardiology team, including those who may not be able to give consent themselves. Participants will automatically be included in the registry without needing to provide consent. The findings from this trial will help improve our understanding of CAD and enhance treatment strategies, ultimately aiming to improve the lives of patients living with this condition.
