ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a method to help preserve the bone in your jaw after a tooth extraction, especially for individuals with conditions like Osteogenesis Imperfecta or those who have lost all their permanent teeth. The study will compare two different materials—Geistlich Bio-Oss® Particles and Bio-Oss® Collagen—used to fill the empty tooth socket right after extraction. These materials will be covered with a special membrane to help maintain the structure of the bone. The goal is to see if this approach can prevent bone loss, improve the success of future dental implants, and enhance the overall satisfaction of patients and dentists.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between the ages of 6 and 74 and must agree to undergo the site preservation procedure after tooth extraction. You can also choose not to have any preservation and opt for the standard healing process instead. If you're interested, you'll be asked to sign a consent form and make sure you can attend follow-up appointments. This study is important because it aims to find better ways to prepare the jawbone for dental implants, ultimately leading to better outcomes and happier patients.
