ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying two different methods for treating shoulder pain in patients who have had a stroke and are experiencing hemiplegia, which means weakness on one side of the body. The researchers want to find out if using ultrasound to guide the injection of medication into the shoulder nerve is more effective than doing the injection without ultrasound guidance. Shoulder pain after a stroke is common, and the goal is to see which method helps patients feel better.

To participate in this trial, patients need to have shoulder pain on the affected side for at least three months, and their pain level should be moderate to severe when moving the shoulder. However, there are certain conditions that might prevent someone from joining, like having severe cognitive impairment or uncontrolled diabetes. If eligible, participants can expect to receive either the ultrasound-guided or non-guided injection and will be monitored for their response to the treatment. The trial is currently looking for participants of all genders, aged between 18 and 80 years old.
