ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Evaluation of Regret in Kidney Transplantation" is studying how kidney transplant recipients feel about their decision to undergo the procedure. Some patients with severe kidney disease have to choose between continuing dialysis (a treatment that helps filter blood) or getting a kidney transplant. While many believe that a transplant leads to a better life, this study aims to find out how many patients actually regret their choice to have the transplant. Researchers will use a simple survey called the Decisional Regret Scale (DRS) along with a quality of life questionnaire to understand patients' feelings after their surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to have received a kidney transplant at Lille University Hospital and have a functioning kidney graft at least 28 days after the surgery. Unfortunately, if you've had other organ transplants, have combined organ transplants, have cognitive issues, or don’t speak French, you wouldn't be eligible. If you join this study, you can expect to share your thoughts and feelings about your decision, which could help improve support for future kidney transplant patients.
