ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how keeping a diary can help patients and their families cope with the emotional and psychological challenges after spending time in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The researchers want to see if writing in a diary improves overall quality of life and reduces feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression for both patients and their loved ones, compared to standard care. They will check in with participants at 2, 6, and 12 months after leaving the ICU to see how they are doing.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must have been admitted to the ICU, sedated, and on a ventilator for at least 24 hours. They also need to be able to understand the study and agree to participate. Participants will be invited to keep a diary and will attend follow-up visits to discuss their experiences. This study is open to both men and women, and it aims to provide valuable insights that could help improve mental health support for ICU patients and their families.
