ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two surgical techniques, the Karydakis flap and Burow's Triangle Advancement Flap, to treat a condition called pilonidal sinus disease, which can cause painful lumps near the tailbone. The study aims to find out which technique has fewer complications, helps patients return to their normal activities faster, and reduces the chances of the condition coming back.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be between 18 and 65 years old and must have a primary, uncomplicated case of pilonidal sinus disease without any active infection. Unfortunately, those under 18 or over 65, patients with previous cases of this disease, or those with certain health conditions may not be eligible. If you choose to take part, you can expect to receive one of the two surgical treatments and be monitored for your recovery and any side effects. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to understanding the best ways to treat this condition.
