ClinConnect Summary
The Taiwan Neonatal Network (TNN) clinical trial is focused on improving the care of newborns, especially those who are premature or have low birth weight. This study aims to gather information about the health of newborns admitted to different hospitals across Taiwan. By collecting data on their care and health outcomes, the TNN hopes to identify best practices and improve the overall quality of neonatal care in the country.
To be eligible for this study, newborns must weigh between 401 grams and 1500 grams or be born between 22 to 29 weeks of pregnancy. This includes babies who were born at the hospital and need care, those who unfortunately passed away in the delivery room, and those who were transferred from another hospital within 28 days of their birth. Participants in this trial can expect their health information to be recorded in a secure database, which will help doctors better understand how to care for premature infants and improve treatment strategies in the future. Importantly, this study has the potential to significantly enhance the care provided to vulnerable newborns across Taiwan.
