ClinConnect Summary
The "Faith in Action!" trial is a research study aimed at helping Korean American women get better access to breast cancer screenings. The goal is to create a special program that trains community members, called lay health navigators, to guide women in their churches on how to get screened for breast cancer. This study will check if this new program can encourage more women to follow the recommended guidelines for breast cancer screening, especially those who haven't had a mammogram in the past two years.
To be part of this study, you need to be a Korean woman aged 45 or older, who does not currently have breast cancer and has not had a mammogram recently. You also need to be a member or be willing to join one of the participating Korean churches in Los Angeles. If you join, you can expect to participate in training sessions and share your thoughts about the program. This trial is important because it aims to improve health knowledge and access to screening for women in the Korean community, helping to reduce health disparities.
