ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to train nurses on how to perform a specific procedure called arteriovenous fistula puncture, which is commonly used for patients undergoing hemodialysis. The goal is to improve the training process through simulation-based learning, where nurses can practice the technique in a safe environment before working with real patients. This is important because while nurses know the basics of the procedure, there are no standardized methods for certain details, like how to position the needles or the best angle for inserting them.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult patient who has an arteriovenous fistula puncture done in a hemodialysis unit, or a nurse who is trained in hemodialysis. Unfortunately, those who are minors, pregnant or breastfeeding, or unable to give consent for any reason cannot join. If you take part, you can expect to be involved in a team that includes nephrology experts and other healthcare professionals, all working together to enhance the care provided to patients on hemodialysis. This trial aims to ensure that nurses feel more confident and skilled in performing this crucial procedure, which can lead to better patient outcomes.
