ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving care for individuals with eating disorders, specifically Binge-Eating Disorder and Bulimia Nervosa, among Veterans and underrepresented groups. The study aims to test a new virtual treatment that uses the latest telehealth technology, allowing participants to access therapy easily from anywhere at any time. The goal is to find out if this innovative approach can lead to better health outcomes for those struggling with these disorders.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be 18 years or older, have a diagnosis of Bulimia Nervosa or Binge-Eating Disorder, and be users of the Veteran Health Administration. However, individuals with serious mental health conditions, such as active psychosis or a high risk of suicide, or those who are pregnant, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in both therapist-led and self-help treatments based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This trial not only aims to provide effective treatment but also seeks to influence future care practices within the VA, making it a significant step towards better support for those with eating disorders.
