ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Food Prescriptions to Promote Affordable Diets," is studying how meal planning and affordable grocery delivery can help families lose weight and improve their eating habits. The research focuses on Latino households with multiple generations living together, where at least two adults have a higher body weight and want to shed some pounds, along with at least one child under 18. The goal is to see if these tools can make a difference in their health and diet quality.
To join the study, households need to have 3 to 5 members, including at least two adults with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 27, and they must own a smartphone or have internet access. Participants should not have certain health issues, like chronic kidney disease or insulin-dependent diabetes, and they need to be willing to buy their groceries. Those who take part can expect to receive meal plans and grocery delivery services that fit their family's needs. It's important to know that the trial is currently recruiting participants, and families must be committed to staying in the area for a year.
