ClinConnect Summary

The Nutri-CAP trial is focused on improving nutrition for pregnant women, adolescent girls, and young children living in the slums of Dhaka City. The researchers aim to find out if providing nutrition counseling, supplements like iron and calcium, and guidance on healthy eating can help these groups gain the right amount of weight during pregnancy, improve their overall health, and ensure that young children grow properly. The study will also include education on water, sanitation, and hygiene to further support health.

To participate in this trial, pregnant women should be between 18-39 years old and in their first 16 weeks of pregnancy, while adolescent girls need to be aged 11-19 and willing to stay in the study area for two years. Children must be under two years old and the youngest in their household. Participants can expect to receive personalized nutrition advice and support throughout the study. It's important to note that those currently involved in other nutrition programs or with certain health issues may not be eligible. This trial is a great opportunity for families in the area to receive essential support for better health outcomes.
